World Peace Forum

What is peace? What does a peaceful world look like? Is world peace achievable? What can we do to achieve world peace? These were some of the questions posed at the first World Peace Forum held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada from June 23-28, 2006. Over 4,500 delegates from over 100 countries met to envision a living culture of peace and sustainability in our lifetimes.

This historic gathering contained many different workshops and sessions covering many different aspects of the vast and complex subject of peace. The British Columbia Teacher's Federation sponsored a series of workshops on how to teach children a culture of peace. The Wolf Sessions was the name given to the First Nations programming for the Forum. Arts and cultural events were also scheduled to run concurrently with the Forum and the spiritual aspects of Peace were also heavily explored during the Forum.
